print and embellishment
BRINGING DIGITAL PRINTS TO LIFE - perspex embellishment adds another layer/texture/surface/hard edge
A development of placement prints and more interesting silhouettes... I want to use round strong shoulders that echo the other half of my collection. but still focusing on textiles. embellishment to add another layer of texture and interest. SHINY/MATT. SURFACE OF THE SKIN.

dress me up
some styling ideas:My muse, Francesca Woodman had a curiosity with materials, objects and how she used them to distort her body. She used wood, glass and other forms in her own photography and self portraits and it has inspired me to think about how I am going to style my collection. Although I might not start making accessories just yet for my final line up I am going to use these ideas to inform my illustrations and create a designer identity through styling and presenting my work on paper..
Coat design and silhouette development
after sewing my initial toile for my coat design I have decided to simplify it.. It's quite late at this stage but I think it will make my work more successful and developed.
I don't feel as though I am currently making the most of my woven designs. My woven designs are very 3 dimensional and bold. They are all about extending the body, playing with the bodies boundaries and edges, adding to the body in chunky materials and 3d weave structures. The coat at the moment has lots of drapery and seeing it in the flesh has made me realise that using my woven designs in this way wouldn't really work.. I would like to use my weave in more ways then just in panels across the arms which is what I was initially planning to do with this coat
I have decided to continue with a coat design and try to maintain the silhouette - dropped shoulders etc but without the folding. The weave has enough bold detail, texture and complex structure. In the end I want the weave to stand out not get lost in a garment design that doesn't compliment it.

the coat will only have draping details at the back, and my woven fabric on the arms.
